Conocí a Lilu hace unos años, cuando acababa de llegar a su nuevo hogar.

Era la perrita más negra del mundo y con el super poder de hacerse un rosquito pequeño en el sofá, casi tan pequeño como para pasar desapercibida, para hacer creer que no existía.
Pero Lilu llegó a la vida de Marina para todo lo contrario, para existir y convertir su día a día en algo especial.

Poco sabemos de la vida que Lilu tenía antes de tener madre, padre y hermanos gatunos, pero si sabemos que ahora disfruta de todo el amor que se merece. Por eso, y por muchas otras cosas, empezar junto a Marina el proyecto Lilu no quiere estar sola ha sido siempre algo importante.

Los años que hemos pasado por un lado Marina escribiendo, y por otro yo dibujando, ha ido transformándose continuamente, pasando de una idea a otra, creciendo a veces más rápido y a veces más lento, siendo una pequeña constante en nuestra vida y en nuestra amistad, para acabar naciendo como un pequeño tebeo titulado Lilu ya no está sola y publicado por Mr.Momo en el que Marina ha volcado su amor por Lilu y yo he volcado mi amor por ellas.

I met Lilu a few years ago, when she had just arrived at her new home.
She was the blackest dog in the world and with the super power to become a small doughnut on the sofa, almost so small as to go unnoticed, to make believe she didn't exist.
But Lilu came to Marina's life for the opposite, to exist and make her day to day something special.
We don't know so much about the life that Lilu had before having a mother, father and cat brothers, but we do know that now she enjoys all the love she deserves. For that reason, and for many other things, to begin with Marina the project Lilu no quiere estar sola has always been something important.
The years that we have spent writing (Marina), and drawing (me), has been continuously transformed, passing from one idea to another, growing sometimes faster and sometimes slower, being a small constant in our lives and in our friendship, to end up being born as a little comic entitled Lilu ya no está sola and published by Mr.Momo (only in spanish) in which Marina has poured her love for Lilu and I have poured my love for them.

Son 46 páginas que resumen de una manera tremendamente condensada lo que supone darle una casa a un animal que tiene la capacidad de convertirla, mágicamente, en un hogar.

Tal como resume perfectamente Marina, que es en realidad la experta en letras:

"(...) Todos conocemos el tópico del salvador salvado, y todos sabemos de su veracidad. Yo le di a Lilu una casa y ella la convirtió en un hogar. Siempre es así, siempre que les dejas, siempre que quieres y te dejas querer. Por eso este libro es una colección de momentos llenos de felicidad que mi familia multiespecie vive en su día a día, y también es un alegato a favor de la adopción de perros y gatos, cachorros y adultos. No es solo que les des la oportunidad a ellos, es que te la des a ti de hacer de tu vida algo infinitamente mejor."

They are 46 pages that summarize in a tremendously condensed way what it means to give a house to an animal that has the capacity to turn it, magically, into a home.
As Marina perfectly sums up, she is actually the expert using words:
"(...) We all know the topic of the savior saved, and we all know its veracity. I gave Lilu a house and she turned it into a home. It's always like that, whenever you leave them, whenever you want and let yourself be loved. That's why this book is a collection of moments full of happiness that my multi-species family lives in its day to day, and is also a plea for the adoption of dogs and cats, puppies and adults. It's not just that you give them the opportunity, it's that you give it to yourself to make your life infinitely better."







No tengo la suerte de estar cerca de Lilu a menudo, pero el tiempo que paso con ella y su familia cada vez que puedo estar ahí, me hace darme cuenta de lo mucho que se quieren y de lo valiosa que es esa colección de momentos, y me hace sentirme muy agradecida por haberlos plasmado en líneas y colores.

Si alguna vez los habéis vivido esos momentos, sabemos que podréis sentiros identificados con Lilu, y con su historia.

I'm not lucky enough to be around Lilu often, but the time I spend with her and her family every time I can be there makes me realize how much they love each other and how valuable that collection of moments is, and makes me feel very grateful for having captured them in lines and colors.
